The Great Smoky Mountains is a sub tropical rain forest and this is evidenced by its many picturesque rivers, streams, creeks and waterfalls. While many are drawn to the mountain-top vistas, those seeking the peaceful tranquility of flowing water prefer the mountain's rivers and waterfalls.
Meigs Falls is located on Little River Road about a mile from the Sinks back toward Metcalf Bottoms. This beautiful falls is one of the few falls which can be seen from the road. The falls is roughly 125 yards from the road and there is no access other than a risky river crossing by foot.
